I am back
It has been awhile since I have blogged anything. I have been crazy busy with school and only three weeks left till I am done woo hoo ( for this semester at least).
I have done a lot since the last blog. Recorded more scratch vocals and am now getting used to using Garage band to record from home.
Thanks for everyone’s continued prayers for the project. I appreciate everyone’s...

Touching base
My wonderful husband got my snowball microphone all working and set up thru garage band in his iPad. Now I can record scratch vocals from home and not have to use my voice memo from my iPhone.
Working on scratch vocals for two more songs: Almighty and This Moment. Stay tuned…

Moving right along
So after my last session at the matrix, the guys and I chose keys for some of the songs so that they could start arranging. One song in particular we later decided that the key was not quite right so back to the drawing board.
I spent most of the afternoon today practicing the song in numerous keys and am happy to report we have a winner. Drum roll please……. The key if A. :)
Spent...

Had another session at the matrix and we narrowed down the songs for the cd even further. We worked on finding the perfect keys for a few of the tunes and now the production team can start working their magic on the arrangements and laying down some tracks.
I am glad I have such talented folks behind me thru all this to help me navigate thru this journey.
I have been and continue to spend a...

Home today
I am home today working on schoolwork while the painters are here. We are having the whole first floor and upstairs hallways repainted. I am enjoying the gorgeous weather on my screened porch and continuing to listen to music to narrow down my song choices for my cd.
Lots going on between school and work and count down to beach is only 9 days away.
Have another session at the matrix next week...
Meeting
I met Chris Rogers today he is the president of a film, video, audio and multimedia production group. He gave me some great pointers about my cd project and breaking into the business. I appreciate all his input and thanks to Jerry for introducing us. Most valuable tidbit: make sure the cd is not released until it’s ready and test the songs to a non biased audience to see what kind of...
Blessings
I am home sick today just resting and taking this opportunity to listen to music and reflect on all the things in my life that are blessings to me. My husband, my boys and the rest of my family and friends.
I am so thankful for the many things God has blessed me with and I realize that I don’t take the time often enough to just thank Him for the things he has gifted me with.
I think...
Listening Session #2
I was at The Matrix last night again for another listening session and - wow- what amazing songs we listened to! This whole process of picking songs for my cd has been fun and really enlightening to the different genres of music out there.
Now I just need to spend some time with the songs and really narrow down my top selections. This session went really well. Not only was I able to listen and...
Taking Risks
I find it so much easier to experiment vocally when I am alone. With no one listening, I have no inhibitions and am free to do things I normally would not dare to try. It is an experience I am embracing, allowing myself to get out of my comfort zone. In the end it will give me the confidence I need to branch out and take some risks.

Music Session with Nichole
Last night I had a music session with Nichole and I feel it went well.
We looked at some of her original songs to consider a few good options for my cd. I had forgotten about one song and then revisited it and Nic came up with some cool parts to add. I think it is a winner and definitely on my list of potential songs. Every time I get together to do music with her I an reminded at how amazingly...
Sessions with Amanda
So after talking to my producer and friend Teo, he challenged me to find my inner self by getting in touch with my emotions and being able to express that through my singing and emote through song what message I am trying to convey to my audience.
I started doing sessions with Amanda, a fellow artist/singer, and she has been nothing less than patient, encouraging, helpful, and supportive of my...
In the Beginning
So many of you are wondering why I decided to start blogging. Those of you who know me, know that I am, let’s say, “technically challenged” when it comes to most things. :)
I really felt lead to start a blog to invite my friends and family along on a journey with me. What is this journey you may ask? I have embarked on a CD project and wanted to invite you to come along side me...
Song Listening Session
Monday night we got together at “The Matrix” to listen to songs that could be on the potential CD. A lot of great ideas and songs were suggested. Who knew there were so many amazing songs to choose from? :) Kind of overwhelming when you think about it.
This whole song selection process is going to help me to figure out what type of artist I will become and mold me into that person. I...
